Day 529 - 535 - I Sent My Materials to Agents - The Waiting Game Begins!

I sent out my resume, headshot and demo reel link to agents around the city...now the waiting game begins...I wonder who will get back to me?

Hello, My name is Sofia Gian and I am currently seeking actor representation.

 

Currently I have been cast in a lead role for pilot episode, for a series called "Smiley's " which is being pitched to various networks early next year. I also have booked roles on various films such as "Anchor Baby" , staring Sam Saporong and have performed in various theatre performances including a role in the 2011 Summerworks festival, named "Danforth" .

 

My education includes Seneca's Theatrical Performance Certificate and professional study with the Professional Actors Lab and Odyssey Studios.

 

I am an actor that ensures that I take control of my career. I was recently interviewed by CBC Radio for the show "Definitely Not the Opera" , where I spoke about my experiences as an actor. I also write a successful blog on acting that has garnered over 50,000 hits, "Actress Confessions" . Day 523 - 528 - Slow December

December has been a slow month...hardly any auditions...people are more focused on the holidays and breaking for a bit...

So what does a gal do to move forward her quest in becoming a leading lady? Well...

This week I'm arranging times and dates to shoot some new material for the demo reel

I've taken on another producing role for a theatre production so I'm busy budgeting and quoting things out for the upcoming production...

I've started to write a feature script and hopefully I can have it done by the end of Jan.

I need to sign up for a course starting in January for the new year.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Day 516 - 522 - Planning for the Future

There is only one sure thing when it comes to this industry - YOU. You are the one that has the capability to make or break your career. It all starts with YOU.

I know this, I've come to realize this but I've also come to act upon this...

You are only as good as your last project, which is the reason I have to continue to develop more projects. Yesterday, I met with a very talented writer and discussed what type of theatre productions we would like to put on together for 2012...

So now this train I'm on is speeding up...webseries on the go...new play to produce and a couple of feature scripts to write with my writing team...

I've come a long way in 522 days...I feel like as we go into 2012...its going to be a good year...a year for growth and development!
