Ok, so it's been 23 days since I've lasted blogged - yes you can totally scold me! But its actually because I've been really busy auditioning! Yeah!
So remember that Audition #1 I talked about in the earlier post? I got a call back! Yeah... but then I didnt end up booking it...booo... however this time they kinda sorta let me audition with children that I could possibly have had in my late teens...yes, hollywood is so crazy like that moms that are 31 in real life with 15 year old kids. Moms that are 35 years old in real life but are moms to 25 year olds in real life...hey whatever floats your boat hollywood.
Yeah another audition! So I go in for this casting, its for a candy (of course I can't reveal which one), but I got into the waiting area, signed in, filled out some paperwork and then they took my picture. The casting director comes out of the studio and says "you should try the candy first, see how it tastes, because you're going to have to eat the candy in the audition."
Then she turns into a meanie casting agent - someone who thinks they are more important then they actually are - views actors as stupid and incompetent...and says 'Oh and by the way the script says eat the candy then say the line." "So if you can do that that would be great....there are people that can understand that and have been saying the line then eating the candy...so again eat the candy then say the line."
Everyone in the waiting area just nods... ("Dance Monkey Dance!)
So I try the candy...its so chewy it sticks to my mouth...WOW. Then I try the candy...omg...hard to chew then say the line...so I devise a plan - if I bite less of the candy then I have then less chewing right...
So I get called in - they are throwing actors out of the studio after a minute, it's like a revolving door. I go into the room, slate...eat the incredibly chewy candy...say the line (Yeah)...she wants me to be more happy next time so I eat the candy again...say the line (more enthusiastically)...then asks me to be even more happy... so I eat the candy again....say the line (even more enthusiastically) and then she dismisses me...
Yeah... soo....it's been a week or two since that audition. Didn't get it...but a new experience none the less...I mean had I booked this commercial I would have been paid insane amounts of money to eat a candy...pretend I like it and smile...
Dance, Money Dance!
